Golf Information                              
The Algarve is a haven for golfers, offering some of the finest golf courses in Europe. There are 3 main courses within easy distance of Parque da Corcovada, Salgados Golf Club an 18 hole course located behind the beautiful sandy beach of Praia de Gale, Balaia Golf Village a very attractive 9 hole course and Sheraton Pine Cliffs a 9 hole course situated on the cliff top near Albufeira. There are also several golf courses at Vilamoura, one of which hosts the annual Portugal Golf Masters in October. Parque da Corcovada makes an ideal base for golfers coming to the Algarve.


Salgados Golf Club  Salgados Golf Course

An 18 hole course located behind the beautiful sandy beach of Praia de Gale, the Salgados is very open to the elements with a number of water hazards and a prevailing onshore breeze which presents a challenge to golfers.

This par 72 course opened in 1994. The length white is 6.080m, length yellow 5.640m, length blue 5.157m and length red 4.711m.

The club has a driving range, putting green, chipping green and bunker area, pro shop, restaurant and bar.

Lessons for 1 or 2 people can be arranged, and there is also a golf clinic of 3 or 5 days duration. Golf buggies, manual trolleys and clubs are available for hire.

Sheraton Pine Cliffs      Sheraton Pine Cliffs

Situated on the cliff top near Albufeira, the Pine Cliffs Golf Course offers spectacular views along the coast. The ninth hole is over a ravine known as “Devil’s Parlour” with views down to the long sandy beach.

This 9 hole, par 33 course opened in 1991 and has a length white 2.274m, length yellow 2.051m and length red 1.784m.

The Sheraton Pine Cliffs club has its own driving range, putting and chipping greens, pro shop, tennis courts, restaurants and bars as well as a golf academy offering 25 or 50 minute lessons for adults, children or groups, as well as a golf clinic of seven lessons.

Clubs, golf shoes, electric and manual trolleys are all available for hire.

Balaia Golf Village   Balaia Golf

A very attractive course which opened in April 2001. The views from the first tee are spectacular and encompass most of the course with the sea as its backdrop. This 9 hole course is ideal for improving your iron shots and short game.

The course is 984 metres in length and the club has a driving range, putting and chipping greens, pro shop, tennis courts and restaurants and bars. Golf clubs and electric and manual trolleys are available for hire. Fifty minute lessons for 1 or 2 people can also be arranged.

Vilamoura

Portugal Masters

Vilamoura boasts several golf courses including the championship Oceanico Victoria Golf Club. The annual Portugal Masters is being hosted in October 2010 for the 4th consecutive year at the Vilamoura Oceanico Victoria Golf Club.
